What is somatic coaching?
Somatic practice is the missing link in movement education and healthcare based on the work by Thomas Hanna.
The technique used to restore voluntary sensory and motor control of muscles is ‘pandiculation’ rather than stretching. Releasing blocks and tension in the muscles. It teaches you to get out of pain or restrictive movement.
How will it help?
The emphasis is on a series of very gentle, easy self-care exercises. Improving balance, co-ordination, flexibility. Daily repetition creates improved self-awareness & self-monitoring.
You will reclaim your ability to move easily without effort, the way you used to before any pain, and prevent further functional breakdown.
Who is somatic coaching for?
Somatic coaching isn't reserved for a specific type of person, fitness level, or background—because having a nervous system is the only prerequisite. Whether you are recovering from a major life transition, dealing with the physical toll of a high-pressure job, or looking to optimize how you move, this practice meets you exactly where you are. It is an open invitation for anyone ready to stop fighting their body and start listening to it.
